In the dimeric holoenzyme, this subunit binds unprenylated Rab GTPases and then presents them to the catalytic Rab GGTase subunit for the geranylgeranyl transfer reaction. Mutations in this protein are a cause of a type of retinal degeneration, called choroideremia.
