Immunoglobin heavy and light chains in Salmo and Oncorhynchus species.
Produktmerkmale
The rabbit anti-salmonid immunoglobin (H+L) is used to detect salmonid parasites (bacteria or viruses) indirectly by detecting the salmonid immunoglobins. This antibody recognizes the immunoglobulin heavy and light chains found in all salmonid species (Salmo, Oncorhynchus and Salvelinus). By using the rabbit anti-salmonid immunoglobin (H+L), specific antibodies for each fish parasite are not needed to identify infecting bacteria and viruses. Instead, the naturally occurring salmonid antibodies (present in increased numbers in infected fish) are used. ELISA plates can be coated with known fish parasites and screened with the infected serum to determine the parasite. This serum can also be used to detect unknown parasites by monitoring the level of Igs in the fish. An increased level could indicate infection. Specific uses for this monoclonal antibody include ELISA, Western blots and immunofluorescence (ie. FACS).
