MESDC2, also known as Mesoderm development candidate 2, is required for formation of the primitive streak and mesoderm during embryogenesis. This protein binds to the Wnt co-receptors LRP5 and LRP6 in the endoplasmic reticulum and is required for their proper folding and cell surface expression. Recombinant human MESDC2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. Synonyms: LDLR chaperone MESD, BOCA, KIAA0081, MESD.
