TAF9, also known as TATA box binding protein (TBP)-associated factor, is a general transcription factor that facilitates the preinitiation complex assembly through direct interactions with the TATA promoter element. It is a multisubunit complex consisting of a small TATA-binding polypeptide and other TBP-associated factors (TAFs). It acts as a channel for regulatory signals. Recombinant human TAF9 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. Synonyms: Adenylate kinase isoenzyme 6, AD-004, AK6, CGI-137, CINAP, CIP, hCINAP, MGC1603, MGC3647, MGC5067. NCBI no.: NP_057367
