- Hintergrund
- NKX3-1 is a homeobox-containing transcription factor, which binds preferentially the consensus sequence 5'-TAAGT[AG]-3' and can behave as a transcriptional repressor. This transcription factor functions as a negative regulator of epithelial cell growth in prostate tissue. Aberrant expression of NKX3-1 is associated with prostate tumor progression. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this. Recombinant human NKX3-1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli.
