- Hintergrund
- Nucleolar protein 3 (apoptosis repressor with CARD domain), also known as NOL3, is predominantly expressed in muscle and is present in the nucleoplasm and concentrated in nucleoli. NOL3 mRNA and protein levels are induced by neuronal activity, which is necessary to stimulate neuroplasticity, indicating a potential role for NOL3 in activity-dependent changes in dendrite function. NOL3 has been shown to localize to the cytoskeleton of neuronal cells and appears to colocalize with F-Actin, although it may associate with an actin-associated protein rather than directly with F-Actin. Recombinant human NOL3 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
