Applikationshinweise: Peptide ELISA: 1/128000. Western blot: Approx.55 kDa band observed in Human Lung, Skeletal Muscle and Skinlysates (calculated MW of 49.5 kDa according to NP_705694.2). The observed molecularweight corresponds to earlier findings in literature with different antibodies (Sajjan,Microbiology.2003 Apr,149(Pt 4): 961-71. , PMID: 12686638). Recommended concentration: 0.1 - 0.3 μg/mL. Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections: Human Tonsil shows strong layered,filamentous staining. Recommended concentration: 2 - 4 μg/mL.
Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Hintergrund: Cytokeratin 13 is a member of the keratin gene family. The keratins are intermediate filament proteins responsible for the structural integrity of epithelial cells and are subdivided into cytokeratins and hair keratins. Most of the type I cytokeratins consist of acidic proteins which are arranged in pairs of heterotypic keratin chains. This type I cytokeratin is paired with keratin 4 and expressed in the suprabasal layers of non-cornified stratified epithelia.
