Protein Background: PRKCB (Protein kinase C beta type), also known as PKC-beta, PKCB, PKCbeta, PKCI(2), PRKCB1 and PRKCB2. PRKCB is a calcium-activated, phospholipid- and diacylglycerol (DAG)-dependent serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in various cellular processes such as regulation of the B-cell receptor (BCR) signalosome, oxidative stress-induced apoptosis, androgen receptor-dependent transcription regulation, insulin signaling and endothelial cells proliferation.
Short Description: Recombinant PRKCB protein was expressed in a baculovirus expression system as the full length protein (accession number NP_002729.2) with an N-terminal FLAG tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 78.3 kDa.
