Hintergrund: CD40 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein receptor and member of the TNF-receptor superfamily, primarily expressed by B cells and professional antigen-presenting cells (APCs), which plays a vital role in T cell-B cell interactions and in germinal centre B cell selection.
