For immuno histology, flow cytometry and Western blotting, dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:50. For functional studies, in vitro dilutions have to be optimized in user's experimental setting.

Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (TNF-alpha) is a cytokine which has diverse immunomodulatory, anti tumor and toxic effects. TNF-alpha has been detected in diverse inflammatory status and appears to be a critical mediator in the lethality of septic shock. Furthermore, TNF-alpha has also been found in inflammatory foci such as synovial effusions in rheumatoid arthritis, systemic circulation in septic shock, parasitemia and rejection of renal transplants. The antibody reacts with both rat and mouse natural and recombinant TNF-alpha and recognizes membrane and receptor bound TNF- alpha. The antibody shows neutralizing activity. Aliases TNF-alpha
