Background: CRT (Calreticulin) is a molecular calcium-binding chaperone promoting folding, oligomeric assembly and quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) through the calreticulin/calnexin cycle. Found predominantly in ER lumen plays a crucial role in calcium storage and protein folding within this organelle.
