    2nd Extracellular Loop, AA 178-192

    Verwendungszweck

A Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody to CCR5 Chemokine Receptor

    Kreuzreaktivität (Details)

Not recommended for use with rat and mouse samples.

    Homologie

    Human only

    Produktmerkmale

Anti-Human CCR5 (extracellular) Antibody (ABIN7043034, ABIN7044174 and ABIN7044175) is a highly specific antibody directed against an epitope of the human protein. The antibody can be used in western blot analysis. It has been designed to recognize CCR5 from human samples only. The antibody is unlikely to recognize the receptor from mouse and rat samples.

    Aufreinigung

    Affinity purified on immobilized antigen.

    Immunogen

CSSHFPYSQYQFWKN, corresponding to amino acid residues 178-192 of human CCR5

Description: CCR5 protein is a G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) responsible for regulating host immune responses and functions against pathogens. The protein plays a key role in transferring immune cells to inflammatory sites and injury. CCR5 is also considered to be an anchor protein for R5-tropic strains of HIV-1 (Human Immunodeficiency Virus-1) to infect immune cells. Thus, CCR5 contributes to the development of AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). The receptor is widely expressed in a variety of immune cells involved in the inflammatory responses such as macrophages, monocytes, T cells and dendritic cells1,2.CCR5 is the receptor for the CC ligand 3 (CCL3), CC ligand 4 (CCL4), and CC ligand 5 (CCL5) chemokine ligands. CCR5 and its ligands are upregulated during HIV infection.Studies have shown that lack of homozygosity of CCR5Δ32 variant, a 32 base-pair deletion of the CCR5's gene coding region, is associated with preventing the risk of HIV-1 infection2,3.
