Hintergrund
- Nap1 (Nucleosome assembly protein 1) is a member of the nucleosome assembly protein (NAP) family. Nap1 serves as a chaperone for Histone H2A-Histone H2B dimers, and participates in DNA replication and may play a role in modulating chromatin formation and contribute to the regulation of cell proliferation. Nap1 binds the HIV Rev protein, stimulating its RNA export function, while causing it to localize away from the nucleolus.
