Testdurchführung:

Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods 1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm using the absorbency value of 0.8511 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1 % (1 mg/mL) solution.
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a calibrated solution of Fibroblast Growth Factor-b as a Reference Standard.

Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF basic is a non-glycosylated heparin binding growth factor that is expressed in the brain, pituitary, kidney, retina, bone, testis, adrenal gland liver, monocytes, epithelial cells and endothelial cells.
