It participate in inflammation, cellular signal transduction, growth and differentiation. ANXA5 binding to phosphatidylserine and sulfatide to regulates coagulability in the blood stream. It also protects sinsuoidal endothelial cells from ischemia reperfusion damage. ANXA5 is important for normal CFTR chloride channel activity.
