- A highly specific, noncompetitive inhibitor of nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase inhibitor (Ki=0.4 nM). Induces tumor cell apoptosis via gradual intracellular depletion of NAD+. Extends lifespan of human cells mediated by activation of the longevity enzyme SIRT1. Suppresses colorectal cancer cell growth and sensitizes pancreatic adenocarcinoma cells to death by other agents. Cell permeable.
