Hintergrund: DDAH2 hydrolyzes N(G),N(G)-dimethyl-L-arginine (ADMA) and N(G)-monomethyl-L-arginine (MMA) which act as inhibitors of NOS. DDAH2 has therefore a role in nitric oxide generation.
