Hintergrund: Cathepsin L, a lysosomal endopeptidase expressed in most eukaryotic cells, is a member of the papain-like family of cysteine proteinases. Cathepsin L can be induced by many different signaling events, including growth factor, secondary messenger and tumor promoters.
