Hintergrund: Fas ligand,CD178 / Fas-L (Fas ligand, CD95L), a member of TNF family transmembrane glycoproteins, is responsible for induction of apoptosis in cells containing its receptor CD95 / Fas. The CD178-mediated apoptosis pathway has been implicated in peripheral tolerance, tissue pathology, and maintenance of the immune privileged sites.
