  • Spezifität

This product has been prepared by immunoaffinity chromatography using immobilized antigens followed by extensive cross-adsorption against other apoLipoproteins and human serum proteins to remove any unwanted specificities. Typically less than 1 % cross reactivity against other types of apoLipoprotein was detected by ELISA against purified standards. This antibody reacts with human apoLipoprotein C-I and has negligible cross-reactivity with Type A-I, A-II, B, C-II, C-III, E and J apoLipoproteins. Specific cross reaction of anti-apoLipoprotein antibodies with antigens from other species has not been determined. Non-specific cross reaction of anti-apoLipoprotein antibodies with other human serum proteins is negligible.

Apolipoprotein Type C-I produced synthetically in full-length form (not selected epitopes) using conventional peptide technology.
  • Applikationshinweise

Suitable for indirect trapping ELISA (quantitation of antigen in serum using a standardcurve), Immunoprecipitation and Western blotting for highly sensitive qualitative analysis. This product has been tested by Immunohistochemistry using paraffin embedded tissues. Recommended dilutions: ELISA: 1/5,000-1/10,000. Western Blot: 1/5,000-1: 10,000. Immunohistochemistry: 1/50-1/200.

    Hintergrund

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the apolipoprotein C1 family. This gene is expressed primarily in the liver, and it is activated when monocytes differentiate into macrophages. A pseudogene of this gene is located 4 kb downstream in the same orientation, on the same chromosome. This gene is mapped to chromosome 19, where it resides within a apolipoprotein gene cluster. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene, but the biological validity of some variants has not been determined. Apolipoprotein C-I appears to modulate the interaction of APOE with beta migrating VLDL and inhibit binding of beta VLDL to the LDL receptor related protein. At least 9 distinct polymorphic forms of apolipoproteins are known. The apolipoproteins act as stabilizers of the intact lipoprotein particles. Quantitative measurements of HDL, LDL and VLDL particles in human serum are often used to estimate an individuals' relative risk of coronary heart disease. In addition, quantitative immunological measurements of certain apolipoproteins (especially A1 and B) have been suggested to be more accurate estimators of coronary heart disease than measurements of lipoprotein particles (especially HDL and LDL).Synonyms: Apo-CI, Ap °C-I, Ap °C1, Apolipoprotein C-I, Apolipoprotein C1
