    Andere Bezeichnung

    Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase, TDT

    Hintergrund

Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT), also known as DNA nucleotidylexotransferase (DNTT) or terminal transferase, is a DNA polymerase expressed in immature lymphocytes of the thymus and bone marrow, as well as certain leukemic cells. 1 TDT cDNA contains an open reading frame of 1530 base pairs (bp) corresponding to a protein containing 510 amino acids. 2 TDT is a useful marker in the diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) (French-American-British [FAB] L1 and L2) and is most useful in distinguishing ALL from mature B-lymphoid neoplasms, such as Burkitt lymphoma (FAB L3) and other lymphoid malignancies. 3
