  1. In this study, fetuin-A levels of patients with PHPT[ primary hyperparathyroidism ] were higher than those of the controls and significantly decreased after parathyroidectomy compared with the preoperative levels. Fetuin-A levels could be a beneficial marker to determine the changes in bone metabolism of the patients with PHPT and to detect the patients suitable for surgery.

  2. Supervised exercise is associated with reductions in fetuin-A levels in adults and elderly.

  3. Fetuin-A immunoreactivity was increased in ischemic white matter and decreased in inflamed cerebellar tissue. Fetuin-A immunostaining was predominantly associated with neurons and astrocytes. Unlike the developing brain, the adult brain lacked fetuin-A immunostaining in CD68-positive microglia.

  4. Fetuin-A is not related with the degree of liver damage in obese children with NAFLD and its routine measurement as marker of liver disease severity is therefore not recommended.

  5. Fetuin-A levels increased in association with diabetes in subcutaneous adipose tissue but not in circulation in the obese subjects. Moreover, physical exercise decreased fetuin-A level. Fetuin-A potentially acts as a hepatokine taken up by other tissues, such as adipose tissue.

  6. Fetuin-A can alter insulin signaling and that fetuin-B may regulate glucose homeostasis via so far unknown effects, possibly on glucose effectiveness.

  7. Serum levels of Fetuin-A were not associated with the disease progression of calcific aortic valve stenosis.

  8. serum levels negatively associated with early markers of atherosclerosis

  9. Serum Fetuin-A levels in septic patients decreased significantly in the first 24 hours, followed by an insignificant increase at 72 hours.

  10. Considering the role of fetuin-A in tissue calcification and inflammation, higher serum fetuin-A levels should be measured in patients with basal ganglia calcification

  11. This review is focused on work that has been done regarding fetuin-A potential role(s) in tumor progression and sequelae of diabetes. [review]

  12. In conclusion, Fetuin A, vitamin D, and intact PTH levels were all associated with sarcopenia in this geriatric population. Among them, intact PTH specifically indicates patients with sarcopenic left ventricular hypertrophy.

  13. fetuin a to adiponectin ratio is more strongly associated with metabolic syndrome and its components than fetuin-A or adiponectin alone

  14. High levels of fetuin-A and TGFbeta1 reported in patients with axial spondyloarthropathies.

  15. fetuin-A can be an alternative marker for insulin resistance and cardiovascular risk in prepubertal children

  16. rs4917 T allele carriers had higher triglycerides (TG). This relationship was exaggerated in individuals with overweight and obesity. Dietary intake was significantly associated with TG in only those with heterozygosity at rs4917, suggesting that these individuals may be more susceptible to dietary interventions.

  17. Although there is mechanistic evidence for an effect of fetuin-A on insulin sensitivity and secretion, data from this study does not support a strong, relevant relationship between circulating fetuin-A and risk of diabetes type 2 in the general European population studied.

  18. In overweight-to-obese older men, exercise/weight loss therapy appears to increase plasma fetuin-A levels, which is related to improvements in aerobic capacity.

  19. Higher fetuin-A levels are associated with incident type 2 diabetes in both males and females.

  20. Data suggest that plasma fetuin-A levels are down-regulated in type 2 diabetes with peripheral arterial disease, irrespective of traditional cardiovascular risk factors; fetuin-A may be involved in lower extremity arterial calcification in type 2 diabetes.

  2. Site-specific analysis of the O-glycosylation of bovine fetuin by electron-transfer dissociation mass spectrometry.

  3. These experiments revealed a second mechanism of long-term mineral ion stabilization by the fetuin-A that is complementary to the formation of calciprotein particles.

  1. Downregulation of adiponectin in inflamed adipocyte by fetuin-A through the mediation of Wnt3a and PPARgamma is a new report.

  2. FETUA expression and ER stress markers in the liver and serum of HFD mice were decreased by melatonin treatment. In conclusion, melatonin can improve hepatic insulin resistance and hepatic steatosis through reduction in ER stress and the resultant AHSG expression.

  3. Impairment of energy sensors, SIRT1 and AMPK, in lipid induced inflamed adipocyte is regulated by Fetuin A.

  4. The growth plate slippage occurred in 70% of Ahsg-/- mice of both sexes around three weeks postnatal.

  5. AHSG is produced in bone, mainly in osteocytes and also show for the first time that its production is modulated by FGF23.

  6. These findings establish urinary Fetuin-A as a sensitive biomarker of the progression of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.

  7. Plasma levels of the calcification inhibitor fetuin-A were significantly decreased in CKD animals compared to controls.

  8. fetuin-A regulates endochondral ossification through mineralization inhibition and lipid (hormone) binding [review]

  9. Our results show that CSF fetuin-A is a biomarker of disease activity and natalizumab response in multiple sclerosis

  10. lipid-induced FetA from adipocytes is an efficient chemokine for macrophage migration and polarization

  11. FetA, via its terminal galactoside moiety, directly binds Leu100-Gly123 & Thr493-Thr516 in Tlr4, fulfilling the requirement of an endogenous ligand for TLR4 through which lipids induce insulin resistance.

  12. Our results show that fetuin-A has a developmental rather than a structural role in murine bone.

  13. Fetuin-A-containing calciprotein particles facilitate the clearance of mineral debris by macrophages via SR-A.

  14. ER stress induced by high glucose and palmitate increases the expression of fetuin-A and further contributes to the development of insulin resistance

  15. fetuin-A is protective against lethal systemic inflammation partly by inhibiting active HMGB1 release

  16. Fetuin-A deficiency is associated with soft tissue calcification in mice and humans.

  17. breast cancer but also of other tumors whose initiation and promotion are under the tight control of TGF-beta.

  18. Fetuin-A expressions were negatively correlated with the liver pathological scores and TNFa levels in fulminant hepatic failure.

  19. alpha 2-HS glycoprotein/fetuin, a transforming growth factor-beta/bone morphogenetic protein antagonist, regulates postnatal bone growth and remodeling

  20. Improved insulin sensitivity and resistance to weight gain in knockout mice

Fetuin A (AHSG) Protein Überblick

Protein Überblick

Alpha2-HS glycoprotein (AHSG), a glycoprotein present in the serum, is synthesized by hepatocytes. The AHSG molecule consists of two polypeptide chains, which are both cleaved from a proprotein encoded from a single mRNA. It is involved in several functions, such as endocytosis, brain development and the formation of bone tissue. The protein is commonly present in the cortical plate of the immature cerebral cortex and bone marrow hemopoietic matrix, and it has therefore been postulated that it participates in the development of the tissues. However, its exact significance is still obscure.
