Immunogen This affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizationswith a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 40-51 of human UBC13 protein.
Format Liquid (sterile filtered)
Beschreibung UBC13 is a member ofthe E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family alsoknown as Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 N,Ubiquitin-protein ligase N, Ubiquitin carrier proteinN and Bendless-like ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme. The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is animportant cellular mechanism for targetingabnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation.Ubiquitination involves at least three classes ofenzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s,ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, andubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. This gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. UBC13 forms a heterodimer with UBE2V2 whichthen catalyzes the synthesis of non-canonical poly-ubiquitin chains that are linked through Lys-63. This type of poly-ubiquitination does not lead to protein degradation by the proteasome. UBC13 also mediates transcriptional activationof target genes and plays a role in the control of progress through the cell cycle and differentiation, as well as error-freeDNA repair. UBC13 also contributes to the survival of cells after DNA damage.
Spezifität This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human UBC13 protein. The product wasaffinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. A BLAST analysis was used to suggestcross reactivity with UBC13 protein from a broad range of sources including human, dog, bovine, Xenopus laevis,Xenopus tropicalis, , zebrafish, rat, mouse, chimpanzee, macaque and chicken based on 100% homology with theimmunizing sequence. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise This affinity purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and western blot. Specificconditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately 17 kDa in sizecorresponding to UBC13 protein by western blotting in the appropriate tissue or cell lysate or extract.
