Hintergrund:

Protein Background: CDK2 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in the control of the cell cycle, essential for meiosis, but dispensable for mitosis. CDK2 / Cyclin A2 complex phosphorylate proteins like pocket proteins (Rb, p107, p130) and proteins involved in DNA synthesis, thereby driving S-phase progression. In line with its role in regulating S-phase and as a typical E2F target gene, cyclin A2 expression is induced upon entry into S-phase, persists through the S- and G2 phases, and is degraded upon entry into mitosis.

Short Description: Recombinant CDK2 / Cyclin A2 Complex that includes full length human CDK2 protein (accession number NP_001789.2) with an C-terminal His tag and full length human Cyclin A2 protein (accession number NP_001228.2) with an C-terminal FLAG tag was expressed in Hi5 cells. The molecular weights of CDK2 and Cyclin A2 are 35.57 kDa and 50.24 kDa, respectively.
