    Hintergrund

This gene produces a spliced long non-coding RNA that is required for normal epidermal differentiation. This transcript regulates the expression of genes involved in the differentiation of epidermal tissue. Mutations in some of the genes targeted by this transcript have been implicated in epidermal skin diseases.
