    Hintergrund

USP (Universal Stress Protein) contains a USP_Like domain: The universal stress protein Usp is a small cytoplasmic bacterial protein whose expression is enhanced when the cell is exposed to stress agents. Usp enhances the rate of cell survival. USP (Universal Stress Protein) also contains a AANH_like domain which belongs to Adenine nucleotide alpha hydrolases superfamily including N type ATP PPases, ATP sulphurylases Universal Stress Response protein and electron transfer flavoprotein (ETF). The domain forms a apha/beta/apha fold which binds to Adenosine nucleotide.
