    Hintergrund

FnbA (Fibronectin-binding protein A) promotes bacterial attachment to multiple substrates, such as fibronectin (Fn), fibrinogen (Fg), elastin peptides and tropoelastin. This confers to S.aureus the ability to invade endothelial cells. FnbA (Fibronectin-binding protein A) promotes adherence to and aggregation of activated platelets. FnbA (Fibronectin-binding protein A) is secreted, cell wall Peptidoglycan-anchor.
