Hintergrund
Human Factor IX/IXa also called Christmas-Factor, is a glycoprotein that is synthesized in the liver and belongs to the serine protease system. Coagulation Factor IX is a single chain polypeptide with a molecular weight of 57 kD. A deficiency in Factor IX causes Hemophelia B. Factor IX has two EGF like domains and is activated by either factor XIa or a factor VIIa/tissue factor/phospholipid complex.Synonyms: Christmas factor, PTC, Plasma thromboplastin component
