LZIC'sICAT-homologousregion is highly similarto ICAT with particular conservation ofresiduesthat are used by ICAT forβ-catenin-binding. LZIC does not interactwithβ-catenin in vitro orin vivo. LZIC is a protein conserved in vertebrates, isrequired for neuronal survival.
