It plays a key role in the regulation of inflammation, apoptosis, cell proliferation, and membrane stability. In immunohistochemistry, Annexin A1 is used as a marker in various inflammatory, autoimmune, and neoplastic conditions. Altered expression of Annexin A1 has been observed in several cancer types, including colorectal cancer, breast carcinoma, and certain leukemias.
