    Background: TWIK-related acid-sensitive K(+) channel 2 (TASK-2) is a pH -dependent, voltage insensitive, outwardly rectifying potassium channel. Outward rectification is lost at high external K(+) concentrations [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) O95279].
