- Background: Spermatogenesis-associated protein 2 (SPATA2) was first identified as a testicular protein differentially expressed in various testiculopathies. IHC analysis of SPATA2 in human testis showed expression in the cytoplasm of sertoli cells. SPATA2 may play a role in spermatogenesis.
