Spezifität: 1.3.3.22 antibody recognizes CD81. Human CD81 is a member of the tetraspanin family of leukocyte cell surface molecules which are involved in signal transduction, cell-cell adhesion and cellular activation. CD81 also acts as a receptor for the envelope protein E2 of chronic hepatitis C virus. It is present on a wide variety of leukocytes.

Applikationshinweise: Antibodies to CD81 have anti-proliferative effects on different lymphoid cell lines, particularly those derived from large cell lymphomas and thus 1.3.3.22 can be used as a research antibody in the studies on lymphoma therapeutics. This antibody is also recommended in the detection and analysis of CD81 via various methods. For instance, 1.3.3.22 antibody was used in the identification of CD81 in human arteries by immunohistochemistry (Rohlena et al., 2009). 1.3.3.22 was also successfully utilized during flow cytometric detection of CD81 on KM3 cells (Higginbottom et al., 2000).

This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
