The antibody can be used in western blot  and immunohistochemistry applications. It recognizes an extracellular epitope and can potentially detect 5-HT3B in living cells. It has been designed to recognize 5-HT3B from rat and mouse samples. The antibody is unlikely to recognize the receptor from human samples.
