Each AbFlex antibody contains a 6xHis Tag, a Biotinylation Tag for enzymatic biotin conjugation using the biotin ligase, BirA, and a sortase recognition motif (LPXTG) to attach a variety of labels directly to the antibody including fluorophores, enzymatic substrates (HRP, AP), peptides, drugs as well as solid supports.

    This recombinant antibody has been generated using defined DNA sequences to achieve high specificity and high reproducibility. The unique advantages of this antibody are its flexible labeling and purification options as it contains a sortase recognition motif (LPXTG) to covalently add fluorophores, enzymatic substrates (HRP, AP...etc), peptides, DNA, drugs or other labels to the antibody in a directed and reproducible manner. Every antibody also contains a 6xHis Tag, which can be used with nickel-based purification systems, and a Biotinylation Tag sequence for enzymatic biotin conjugation using the biotin ligase, BirA.

    Hintergrund

    AbFlex Mili / PiwiL2 antibody was expressed as full-length IgG with mouse immunoglobulin heavy and light chains (IgG2a isotype) in mammalian 293 cells. Mili / PiwiL2 is a member of the PIWI/AGO subfamily of RNA-binding proteins. Mili / PiwiL2 contains a Piwi and an AGO domain and binds a class of RNA called piwi-interacting RNA (piRNA), which are 24 to 30 nucleotides in length and are derived primarily derived from transposons and other repeated sequence elements. Mili / PiwiL2 is required for methylation and inactivation of retrotransposons. Mice deficient in Mili / PiwiL2 are sterile, as it is also required for spermatogenesis. It also positively regulates translation, and is required for germ line stem cell division and differentiation.
