Tested Species: In-house tested species with positive results. By Heat: Boiling the paraffin sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH6.0, for 20mins is required for the staining of formalin/paraffin sections. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end users.

    Hintergrund

    Synonyms: Protein Hook homolog 2, h-hook2, hHK2, HOOK2

Tissue Specificity: Expressed in fetal and adult brain. Also detected in fetal liver and skeletal muscle, but not in their adult counterparts.

Background: Protein Hook homolog 2 (HK2) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the HOOK2 gene. This gene is mapped to 19p13.13. Hook proteins are cytosolic coiled-coil proteins that contain conserved N-terminal domains, which attach to microtubules, and more divergent C-terminal domains, which mediate binding to organelles. The Drosophila Hook protein is a component of the endocytic compartment.
