A synthetic peptide to phospho S41 of human GAP-43 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The antigen is homologous in rat, mouse, zebra fish and chicken.
IHC. A concentration of 10-50 μg,ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. This antibody may also recognise the unphosphorylated form.

FUNCTION: This protein is associated with nerve growth. It is a major component of the motile "growth cones" that form the tips of elongating axons. SUBUNIT: Binds calmodulin with a greater affinity in the absence of Ca(2+) than in its presence. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane, Peripheral membrane protein, Cytoplasmic side. Cell projection, growth cone membrane, Peripheral membrane protein, Cytoplasmic side. Cell junction, synapse. Note: Cytoplasmic surface of growth cone and synaptic plasma membranes.,Neuronal,Neuromodulin, growth-associated protein 43, protein F1, Basp2, B-50
