Snapin is a member of the BLOC-1 complex, which is involved in the protein-sorting, membrane biogenesis, and vesicular trafficking. Snapin is required for vesicle docking and fusion and regulates neurotransmitter release. Snapin is expressed in many tissues including heart, brain, testis, kidney and liver.
