  18. The hydrophobic domain of diacylglycerol kinase epsilon does not contribute to substrate specificity but plays a role in permanently sequestering the enzyme to a membrane.

  19. The alpha and zeta isoforms of diacylglycerol kinase are inhibited by 2,3-dioleoylglycerol, but not the more substrate-selective epsilon isoform

  20. Substrate specificity of diacylglycerol kinase epsilon is determined by selectivity of the sn-1 and sn-2 acyl chains phosphatidic acid or diacylglycerol.

DGKE Antigen-Profil

Beschreibung des Gens

Diacylglycerol kinases are thought to be involved mainly in the regeneration of phosphatidylinositol (PI) from diacylglycerol in the PI-cycle during cell signal transduction. When expressed in mammalian cells, DGK-epsilon shows specificity for arachidonyl-containing diacylglycerol. DGK-epsilon is expressed predominantly in testis.
