Human Polyclonal ADH7 Primary Antibody für ELISA - ABIN408635 : Zgombi?-Knight, Foglio, Duester: Genomic structure and expression of the ADH7 gene encoding human class IV alcohol dehydrogenase, the form most efficient for retinol metabolism in vitro. in The Journal of biological chemistry 1995 (PubMed)
These results suggest that variants near ADH7 may play a role in protection from alcohol dependence in this Mexican American cohort.
ADH1B (zeige ADH1B Antikörper)-ADH1C (zeige ADH1C Antikörper)-ADH7 cluster SNPs confer susceptibility to esophageal squamous cell carcinoma
Transcriptional regulatory elements of ADH7 were identified that effect gene expression.
common ADH1 (zeige ADH1A Antikörper)-7 variants conferred risk for both schizophrenia in African-Americans and autism in European-Americans.
The rs1573496 (ADH7) polymorphism was not associated with colorectal cancer risk overall in Western-European populations. However, the relationship between alcohol and colorectal cancer risk might be modulated by the rs1573496 (ADH7) polymorphism.
The current results support the ADH7 A92G SNP as a marker for the risk of SCCHN in non-Hispanic white populations.
An association between age at onset of regular alcohol use and a SNP just upstream of ADH7 (rs2654849, p = .003) was observed.
ADH7 gene polymorphisms are associated with upper aerodigestive tract cancers.
the ADH7 variation may contribute to the genetic component of variation in personality traits, with the risk for SD and personality traits being partially shared.
A recombinational hotspot within intron 7 of the ADH7 gene were seen using 25 SNPs; haplotypes associated with inter-individual variation in the early stages of alcohol metabolism were identified.
ADH3 promotes liver fibrosis by enhancing hepatic stellate cell activation and inhibiting natural killer cell activity
Stimulation of retinoic acid production and growth by ubiquitously expressed alcohol dehydrogenase Adh3
ADH1 functions as the primary enzyme responsible for efficient oxidative clearance of excess retinol, thus providing protection and increased survival during vitamin A toxicity, ADH3 plays a secondary role
Cellular expression of Adh3 in the GUI tract was studied.
This gene encodes class IV alcohol dehydrogenase 7 mu or sigma subunit, which is a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family. Members of this family metabolize a wide variety of substrates, including ethanol, retinol, other aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products. The enzyme encoded by this gene is inefficient in ethanol oxidation, but is the most active as a retinol dehydrogenase\; thus it may participate in the synthesis of retinoic acid, a hormone important for cellular differentiation. The expression of this gene is much more abundant in stomach than liver, thus differing from the other known gene family members. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
