Beschreibung: ACTH, released from the anterior pituitary gland in response to corticotropin-releasinghormone from the hypothalamus, acts on the adrenal cortex to stimulate the production ofcorticosteroids such as cortisol, involved in the response to stress. Studies have shownthat the administration of 1-24 ACTH increases blood pressure, believed to be attributed toan increase in ACTH-stimulated cortisol secretion, in association with increased cardiacoutput.

Spezifität: This antibody recognises 1-24 ACTH (Synacthen) which, as a synthetic analogue ofnaturally-occurring Adrenocorticotropic Hormone, can be used to measure adrenal reserveand for the diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency by acute adrenocortical stimulation. It does not recognise 17-39 ACTH (CLIP). Species: Human. Cross-reacts with Rat N-terminal ACTH. Others not tested.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: ELISA. Immunohistochemistry on Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded Sections: 1/100-1/200(Requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections e. g. trypsin or pronase). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Konzentration: 1.0 mg/ml

Buffer: PBS, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% Sodium Azide as preservative.

Lagerung: Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
