Beschreibung: RING1B (also known as BAP1, DING, Polycomb-M33 interacting protein Ring1B, Ring finger protein 1b, Ring fingerprotein 2 and RNF2) is one of the PcG proteins. The polycombgroup (PcG) of proteins form the multiprotein complexes that areimportant for the transcription repression of various genes involvedin development and cell proliferation. It has been shown to interactwith, and suppress the activity of, transcription factor CP2(TFCP2/CP2). Studies of the mouse counterpart suggested theinvolvement of this gene in the specification of anterior-posterioraxis, as well as in cell proliferation in early development. Thisprotein was also found to interact with huntingtin interacting protein2 (HIP2), a ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme that possesses ubiquitinligase activity.

Spezifität: This affinity purified antibody is directed against human RING1B protein. The product wasaffinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. A BLAST analysis was used to suggestreactivity with this protein from human, chimpanzee, orangutan, mouse, rat, dog, bovine, frog and chicken based on100% homology for the immunogen sequence. Expect cross reactivity with RING1B from zebrafish, as only a singleamino acid residue changes within the immunogen sequence (92% positive by BLAST). Cross reactivity with RING1Bhomologues from other sources has not been determined.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: This affinity purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA and by western blot. Specific conditions forreactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately 38 kDa in size corresponding to RING1B by westernblotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.

Western blot using antibodies-online's Affinity Purified anti-RING1B antibody shows detection of a 38 kDa band corresponding to human RING1B in 3T3 (lane 1), U937 (lane 2), Jurkat (lane 3), mouse brain (lane 4) and CHO-K1 (lane 5) cell lysates. Approximately 20 ug of lysate was run on a SDS-PAGE and transferred onto nitrocellulose followed by reaction with a 1:500 dilution of anti-RING1B antibody incubated at room temperature. Signal was detected using standard techniques.
