Maksimova, Hara, Nikolaeva, Chun-Feng, Usui, Takagi, Nishihira, Miyashita, Fujiwara, Oyama, Nogovicina, Sukhomyasova, Potapova, Kuwano, Takahashi, Nishizawa, Onodera: Neuroblastoma amplified sequence gene is associated with a novel short stature syndrome characterised by optic nerve atrophy and Pelger-Huët anomaly. in Journal of medical genetics 2010
These results suggest that the Na(+) signal generated in Nax-positive glial cells leads to the activation of TRPV4 (zeige TRPV4 Antikörper)-positive neurons in sCVOs to stimulate water intake by using EETs as gliotransmitters.
SAP97 (zeige DLG1 Antikörper) promotes the stability of Nax channels at the plasma membrane.
Nax/Nav2 channel is expressed in alveolar type II cells, suggesting a role in the control of extracellular sodium level.
Nav2-deficient mice show a preference for 0.15 M NaCl over water during a free two-choice intake test compared with wild-type; preference ratios for NaCl in wild tend to increase after combined superior laryngeal and glossopharyngeal nerve transection.
identified the promoter and transcription start sites of Na(x) sodium channel in dorsal root ganglia neurons; findings provide the basis with which to understand tissue-specific regulation of Nax sodium channel gene (Scn7a) expression
The authors demonstrated that the sodium channel Nax functions as a sodium sensor. With increased extracellular sodium, Nax up-regulates prostasin (zeige PRSS8 Antikörper), which results in activation of the sodium channel ENaC (zeige SCNN1A Antikörper).
SNP rs7565062 of SCN7A was significantly associated with essential hypertension in a Northern Han Chinese population
This gene encodes one of the many voltage-gated sodium channel proteins. For proper functioning of neurons and muscles during action potentials, voltage-gated sodium channels direct sodium ion diffusion for membrane depolarization. This sodium channel protein has some atypical characteristics\; the similarity between the human and mouse proteins is lower compared to other orthologous sodium channel pairs. Also, the S4 segments, which sense voltage changes, have fewer positive charged residues that in other sodium channels\; domain 4 has fewer arginine and lysine residues compared to other sodium channel proteins. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, but the full-length natures of all of them remain unknown.
