Beschreibung: Monensin isolated from Streptomyces cinnamonensis is a polyether ionophore antibiotic. It is able to form pseudomacrocyclic complexes with mono and divalent cations andtransport these cations across cellular membranes, hence it's antibiotic properties. In cellsmonensin blocks the secretion of glycoproteins. Monensin plays an important role as anNa+/H+ antiporter, it blocks intracellular protein transport, and exhibits antibiotic,antimalarial, and other biological activities. Monensin is used extensively in the beef anddairy industry to improve growth rates of cattle.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: ELISA: 1.25μg/ml (EIA). Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
