Beschreibung: In phycobilisomes, the light-harvesting antennae of red algae, b-phycoerythrinconsists of alpha and beta chains that contain phycoerythrobilin chromophores(an open-chain tetrapyrolle, red colored). It is found in chloroplasts of many redalgae, and is closely related to the PEs of cyanobacteria and cryptomonads.
