Immunogen: This affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with asynthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 31-47 of human SPANX-C protein.

Beschreibung: HumanSperm Proteins Associated with theNucleus on X-chromosome (SPANX)are relatively low molecular weightcytoplasmic proteins found in testisand sperm. Their expression in othertissues indicates malignancies. Familymembers are observed as proteinsthat range from 15 to 20 kDa.

Spezifität: This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human SPANX proteins. The immunogen sequenceis present within SPANX-A, SPANX-B, SPANX-C, SPANX-D and SPANX-N, but not present within SPANX-E. The productwas affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest crossreactivity with SPANX proteins from gorilla and chimpanzee. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: This affinitypurified antibody has been tested foruse in ELISA and by western blot.Specific conditions for reactivity shouldbe optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately 15-20 kDa in size corresponding to SPANX family members by western blotting in the appropriate humantissue. Most human cell lines are SPANX negative.
