Beschreibung: Swi6 is also known as chromatin-associated swi6 protein and repression of silent mating typeloci protein. This protein recognizes and binds to histone H3tails that are methylated at Lys-9, leading to epigeneticrepression. Swi6 is also involved in the repression of the silentmating-type loci MAT2 and MAT3 and it may be resposible forthe compaction of MAT2/3 into a heterochromatin-likeconformation which represses the transcription of these silentcassettes. Swi6 also interacts with the cohesin subunit psc3.Swi6 has a nuclear localization and contains 2 chromodomains.

Spezifität: This product is an affinity purified antibody produced by immunoaffinity chromatography using peptidecoupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption to remove any unwanted reactivities. BLAST analysis indicatesthat cross reactivity with homologues of this protein from other sources is not likely.
