Beschreibung: Cortisol is the most potent glucocorticoid produced by the human adrenal. It is synthesized from cholesterol and its production is stimulated by pituitaryadrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) which is regulated by corticotropin releasing factor(CRF). ACTH and CRF secretions are inhibited by high cortisol levels in a negative feedbackloop. In plasma a majority of cortisol is bound with high affinity to corticosteroid bindingglobulin (CBG or transcotin). Cortisol acts through specific intracellular receptors andaffects numerous physiologic systems including immune function, glucose counterregulation, vascular tone, and bone metabolism.

Spezifität: This antibody recognizes the glucocorticoid hormone cortisol, that is produced in theadrenal cortex and is involved in responses to stress. Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: RIA and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Lagerung: Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
