This antibody recognizes alpha-1 Antichymotrypsin in paraffin embedded and frozen Human cells and tissues. Monocytes and macrophages are recognized in tonsils.
Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections: 1 μg/mL (1/400). Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections: 1 μg/mL (1/400), Microwave pretreatment forantigen retrieval is recommended. Suggested Positive Control: Human tonsil. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Hintergrund
The protein is a plasma protease inhibitor and member of the serine protease inhibitor class. Polymorphisms in this protein appear to be tissue specific and influence protease targeting. Variation in this protein's sequence have been implicated in Alzheimer's disease, and deficiency of this protein has been associated with liver disease. Mutations have been identified in patients with Parkinson disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.Synonyms: AACT, Cell growth-inhibiting gene 24/25 protein, GIG24, GIG25, SERPINA3
