Beschreibung This antigen has been identified independently by a number of groups, and it has beenknown by a variety of names including Epithelial Specific Antigen, MOC31 and Ber-EP4. Several monoclonal antibodies have been raised against Ep-CAM, many of which havebeen described as tumour specific molecules on carcinomas. Ep-CAM is a Type 1transmembrane glycoprotein. It is expressed on the basolateral membrane of cells by themajority of epithelial tissues, with the exception of adult squamous epithelium and somespecific epithelial cell types including hepatocytes and gastric epithelial cells. Ep-CAMexpression has been reported to be a possible marker of early malignancy, with expressionbeing increased in tumour cells, and de novo expression being seen in dysplasticsquamous epithelium.
Spezifität This antibody recognises the 34kD cell surface antigen known as CD326 or Epithelial CellAdhesion Molecule (Ep-CAM). Species Reactivity: Tested: Human.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise Flow Cytometry: Use 5 µl of neat antibody to label 10e6 cells or 100ul cell suspension. Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections: 1/20. Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections: 1/20. This product requires protein digestionpre-treatment of paraffin sections e. g.0.1% pronase, 10 minutes. Recommended Positive Control: Human colon and appendix. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Konzentration 0.1 mg/ml
Buffer PBS, pH 7.3 containing 0.09% Sodium Azide as preservative and 0.5% BSAas stabilizer.
Lagerung Store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
